Flooding in residential areas typically has an isolating effect on families and individuals, stranding them on small islands – their homes. Our proposal strives to resolve that problem by approaching it first from the scale of the community, in which flooding is both mitigated and utilized as a means of linking homes together, sustaining community in perhaps its greatest time of need.
