Under Construction: This 18’x32’ cabin in eastern Washington, near the town of Leavenworth, is built off the grid. The house is sited and designed to maximize passive heating strategies (solar exposure in winter, good insulation, efficient living spaces) and cooling strategies (stack and cross ventilation, good insulation, shading from direct sun). Heat will be provided by a wood stove, water from a well and power from a photovoltaic array.
